2022 Fall Bucket List: Create a Playlist

Some things always begin the same.

Fall food always starts with Apple and Sausage stuffed Acorn Squash, coffee includes pumpkin syrup with pumpkin cold foam, fall movie month isn’t official until Hocus Pocus is watched, and music playlists change from ‘Born in the USA’ to ‘Season of the Witch’.

I always try to create a new themed Spotify playlist when the seasons begin to show or a holiday approaches but, the past couple of years I have been enjoying others well thought out compilations. So why reinvent the wheel?

Instead I’d rather share the 5 fall playlists I’m requesting on my Alexa this year.

In no particular order…

ONE.

You may have heard the term “Coastal Grandmother” this summer season. It was a nod to the Nancy Meyers lifestyle of monochromatic white, blue striped boat neck shirts, bucket hats, Ina Garten cooking, and the sounds of a life well lived by the sea. Autumn Gran extends into the next season replacing the boatneck striped tees for crème colored fisherman knot Irish wool sweaters and summer lobster bakes for fall beef bourguignon.

TWO.

When I think of spooky season only two places come to mind… Salem, Massachusetts and New Orleans, Louisiana. A southern gothic dollhouse is a Tic Tok creator who has built a story from a gothic dollhouse. A dollhouse full of secrets, seance ritual rooms, and a chandelier made from real baby teeth. Just don’t look in the mirrors... That’s where the ghosts live. This playlist perfectly compliments the haunting story and sets the tone for an extra spooky season.

THREE.

When I listen to this playlist it reminds me of some of my favorite fall movies or tv shows. Think Practical Magic, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, mixed with Sleepy Hollow. Its vibe reminds me of crackling fires, warm spices, and cozy interiors maybe even something you could whip up a potion (or dinner) to.

FOUR.

A playlist created by an American artist who resides in France. Her song choices are soft and refined just like her art. She pulled tracks from not only early American greats like Ella Fitzgerald but mixed in a few French gems as a nod to her new home.

FIVE.

A general fall playlist I love to listen to after Halloween has passed. The past two Thanksgiving meals have been cooked and enjoyed to this Spotify list. I can already hear the laughter and wine glasses clinking as we give thanks to all we have been blessed with.
