Where Did Fall Go?
It’s November 2nd, yesterday I was sitting in line at Dutch Bros looking at all the drink advertisements geared towards the Christmas season and wondered… Have I been gone from America too long, Where Did Fall Go?
Thanksgiving hasn’t been my absolute favorite holiday but its definitely in the top 5. This is when decorating in my home goes from skeletons and pumpkins to dried floral and natural elements. Is this not the prettiest part of the Fall season, bringing the outside in? Is the day where we gather as family and friends to give thanks not important anymore? Just one day to show gratitude, to slow down thanks to bellies full of turkey and watch the Christmas day parade or hours of football surrounded by those you love the most. Isn’t gratitude important in today’s fast paced world?
I still plan to continue my fall bucket list until the first Christmas tree goes up, after Thanksgiving. You’ll still see my adventures as I’ve got movies to see at a drive in, campfires and smores with my family, hiking with the pups, and breakfast at Loveless Café. So it got me thinking… if everyone has fallen out of love with fall by October 31st then I plan to fall in love with fall in November.
I’ve got butter mold turkeys to buy, fall flower arrangements to prepare, adventures outdoors to go on, and a Thanksgiving / Friendsgiving menu to write up.
