5 books on my 2024 Summer Reads List

After liking a TikTok video sharing book ratings my social media feed has been full of summer must read recommendations. Some of my favorite authors like Lisa Wingate (releasing Shelterwood) and the much anticipated third installment in the Housemaid series from Freida McFadden, The Housemaid is Watching, will be hitting book store shelves from may to august.

I have a few that are runners up; Margo’s Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe looks interesting for a contemporary fiction, The Wedding People by Alison Espach seems to have a very “Wedding Crashers” type vibe from a female perspective. If you love a good thriller like I do, The Nature of Disappearing by Kimi Cunningham Grant takes on the whole van life lifestyle when a wilderness guide teams up with her ex to track down an old friend who’s gone missing.

I rarely read a non-fiction book but when I do its something like The Widow’s Guide to Dead Bastards by Jessica Waite. Jessica pens a memoir after she looses her husband to a heart attack in the Houston airport and is left to uncover her late husbands shocking secrets all while rebuilding a new life for her and her nine year old son. Even the romance novel booktok girls are raving about The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren (so much so that I might pick it up at my local library).

The horror novels I am saving for the fall. Those genres are my favorite with crisp weather, warm cider, a fire, and a fluffy blanket.

So what made my list, now that I shared my honorable mentions?
