A Charming Southern 2022 Christmas Wishlist
How am I sitting here creating a new 2022 Christmas wishlist? I feel like this whole year has flown by dotted by a few big life changes.
If 2022 was a word it would easily be “growth”. This year brought a new career change, I turned 40, became an active Junior League of Nashville member, I tackled my first small home improvement project that I self financed, bought my first new car completely alone, enjoyed my first vacation since moving back to the states… honestly, 2022 has been good to me.
My Christmas presents are definitely picked based off the 2022 closet project. A permanent closet design has forced me to reassess my clothes, shoes, and accessories once again. I’m so tired of living with excess and barely touching a fraction of my items. I’m over dragging large plastic totes from my attic to my master bedroom, taking a whole weekend to switch out seasonal items. Then dragging overstuffed totes back upstairs. It’s exhausting!
I want to cultivate a capsule wardrobe that can easily move from year to year with clothes built to last 2-5 years maybe longer, before needing replacement. I’ve gravitated to midi dresses, comfortable flats, classic sweaters, button up shirts, neutral color palettes with a few pops of color, and bag styles that hark the esthetic of a beautiful Kelly or Birkin.
I am gravitating towards British-Scottish-Irish-Welsh high fashion so importing these gifts will have to happen. Hopefully everything can arrive before the holidays (come on customs-fingers crossed).
Without further ado… my Charming Southern wishlist.
